Item Types-Customizing Your Item Types


Item Types are customizable and can consist of many different types of information, so you can make an item type that fits your needs. In the “Details” box to the right there is a list explaining the use of different item types.

What Item Types Fields do

Item Type can be global or for just for one department. A global item type can be used by any department.

Block Text: is for a long block of text like the body of a news article.

Check Box: is a yes/no box usually not displayed but can be used for sorting item views like an “is special” option.

Date Time: is for a date and/or time and can be used for the time and date of an event.

Real Number: is a decimal number, such as price

Image: is a picture like an image of a house or person.

Image URL : is an image that links to a webpage.

Whole Number: is a Whole number and could be used for age.

Text: is a short line or text like a title or name.

Web URL : is a web link with a friendly name.
