I know it has been a few weeks since I was able to post - VBS has a way of keeping me busy for a few weeks. Speaking of VBS - our largest yet! Over 150 involved! We had 11 decisions for Christ during the week and have seen 3 of those follow with baptism! Many of the families that attended VBS have visited our worship services. Keep them in your prayers as we seek to minister to them as the LORD leads.
This past weekend I watched as many FBCO-ites ministered to others in need. I am thankful for the servant hearts that fill this place!
Things you need to know:
1. We will have ou last Picnic in the Park on Sunday August 11th. This fall we will hold occasional services in the park - join us as we seek to build relationships in the city of Oronogo
2. The Adult life Groups will be starting new study series the first week of September - If you are not currently a part of a Life Group - get involved TODAY!
Devotional Thought - We say we love God - the God that made nitrogen and pine needles - the God that made the galaxies and E-minor. The God that loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. We say we love this God - and here is how we show that love -- we go to church, cing songs and try not to cuss... is that really how we should love that God? I think not - the Bible says we are to love that God with all our heart, mind and soul - with everything we have - that is so much more than church attendance, vocal demonstrations, and a list of do's and don'ts! We can't go on with a religous complacency - we must fall in love with God. Because when you are wildly in love with Him, it changes everything!
Ya best be lookin' up - Jesus is on His way!
